It’s good but…
I like the flavor, but one problem is that it is so fine. It does not work well with my infusers and there are always little chunks of tea in my drink. There must be a way to solve this problem. I just haven’t found it yet.
Our organic, Fair Trade Certified Masala Chai Rooibos loose leaf blend offers soothing herbal qualities combined with the "zip" of masala chai spices (including cardamom, ginger, cinnamon) and the creamy richness of vanilla. Rooibos (pronounced ROY-bus), grown in South Africa, is known to be one of the more relaxing beverages one can brew. The needle shaped leaves of the rooibos bush, (Aspalathus linearis) produce a caffeine-free drink that is noted by nutritionists and health consultants the world over for its soothing character. In contrast, masala chai renders an overtly spicy brew. Interestingly, the mixture of these two distinct characteristics gives this chai a lovely sense of balance. For the real chai experience, combine a concentrated infusion of our Masala Chai Rooibos blend with warmed milk and honey!
Ingredients: organic and Fair Trade Certified South African rooibos, organic cinnamon, organic ginger root, organic cardamom, and organic vanilla flavor
Our delicious flavored teas use the same top-quality organic tea that we offer in our unflavored varieties, but are blended with pieces of real fruit, spices, flowers, and 100% natural flavors. When blending our teas, our goal is to create a cup that balances the taste of the tea with the flavors of the additional ingredients so that neither one overpowers. All of the natural flavors we use are either extracts taken directly from the botanical ingredient, or extracted using 100% GMO-free grain alcohol as a solvent. You can rest assured that none of the flavors used in our blends are synthetically or artificially derived, and do not use artificial preservatives.
At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend herbal and rooibos teas to be steeped for 5 to 7 minutes in water heated to a full rolling boil. For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible, and avoid overboiling. If you want a stronger brew, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!

"I love the spices in chai, but I always crave it at night. I love making this as a night cap!"
"One of my favs to end the day with. This is a softened version of the Masala Chai Black Tea. I love to steep it and drink it without any add ins... it's so flavorful, yet it doesn't need all the milk and honey!"
"My favorite way to make this is a Masala Chai Latte! I like whole milk and honey stirred in, so yummy!"
I like the flavor, but one problem is that it is so fine. It does not work well with my infusers and there are always little chunks of tea in my drink. There must be a way to solve this problem. I just haven’t found it yet.
Rooibos is a caffeine-free tea, so it is my go-to for afternoon tea. Coupling Rooibos with Masalas and preparing it with traditional milk (or dairy substitute) and sweetener makes it a great afternoon "snack".
Ive tried other brands of this type of blend and always come back to this one! It’s so good. It’s a nightly ritual with milk and honey. This is my 4th time purchasing.
Seriously disappointed in this flavor...well it lacked flavor. I love red bush tea I have the Chai flavor from a tea bag another company and it was sodelicious. I was expecting this to be far better :(
I just brewed my first cup and wow I must say I’m impressed. I usually use a lot of sugar and milk in my chai but not with this. So much yummy flavor that nothing else is needed. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
This is my second or third order of masala chai rooibos, and I keep coming back to it especially in fall and winter. The rooibos is a wonderful earthy undernote and the masala chai spices are just right, not too peppery like some. I prefer the rooibos base to the more traditional black tea base. I drink this plain and am able to get two steeps out of the tea when using a French press.
I have had black tea and this version, and I like both. But hands down this is the best I have had. This has initiated my love for masala chai tea.
I LOVE this in the afternoon with a splash of coconut milk and a drizzle of honey. Such a satisfying treat!
I had high hopes for this tea. Every time I discover a rooibos chai I really like, it ends up being discontinued. This one just wasn't quite what I was looking for, though. For me, the cinnamon flavor overwhelms the other spices, and that's not what I'm looking for in masala chai.
I'm not a fan of Rooibos but I thought that my daughter might enjoy this since she is too young for the regular chai that is caffeinated. She likes it brewed as a normal tea and also mixed as a chai latte. Spices almost overpower the rooibos flavor.
This tea is amazing. It's so flavorful. There's a perfect amount of vanilla and cinnamon. I love being able to have this chai tea on cold nights.
This chai tea is the best thing I've ever tasted!!!! The smell the flavor is sooooo wonderful! Mad at myself for just buying the sample! I will be ordering this by the pound!!! Lol sitting next to the fireplace with this wonderful aroma and flavor its priceless! ...going to go order more now!
I made chai tea with chobani milk. I learned how to make it frothy I believe online and thru this website. I freaking love it! I almost used up my entire Herbal chai because its so good. I also got the black tea, in my personal opinion this one is more flavorful cause it doesn't have the bitterness of a black tea flavor. Both work really well though. But if I had to pick, I would choose this.
Makes a great chai latte and smells amazing!
I love chai, and this blend is not too peppery but is warming and delicious. I enjoy this in the winter especially!
Another great Arbor blend, this one is more intense than other rooibos blends, a great dessert and/or winter tea.
As a first time Arbor Tea customer, I ordered a variety of tea. This by far is my absolute favorite! You can add a little milk/cream or honey. You can drink it just, as is, and it is the best chai tea I have ever had.
I love this tea! I use my french press to steep it. If I want to caffeinate it, I add some of Arbor's Pu Erh for a fabulous taste. I drink it every day. Thank you Arbor for making this awesome tea!
I had tried all kinds of Chai tea, this one so far is the lightest kind. It's not diluted kind of light, it's like a calmer spice tea. It's smooth with mild character, it's good for drinking it without milk and sugar. It's good of its kind because its caffeine free Rooibos! You can feel safe to drink before going to bed! It's not the chai that wakes you up, it's a little warm spice that keeps you cozy. If you like light tea with a little warmer feeling, this is a good one to try!
I love chai and this is a good blend. I would like it with a little more punch of spice, but if I want to I can add some of the cinnamon rooibos to it...perfect.
I adore this tea. I purchased the standard green tea, white tea, and black tea samplers along with masala chai. Of all of the samples I tried, I enjoy this one the most. Chai tea, in and of itself, is delicious, but this masala chai introduces a new realm of spice that is perfect. It's spicy, sweet and more comforting than I could have asked for. This is the only tea I have ever had that improved the experience of eating a cookie. I have yet to try it in a latte and although I am sure it would be delicious, it is unnecessary since just a bit of honey makes it divine. I have not tried masala chai tea before this, so unfortunately I cannot compare it to that of others brands.
I normally am a huge fan of masala chai and this tea to me just wasn't spicey enough to me. Plus the flavor was kind of off meh. Nothing special.
I love Rooibos; I love Marsala Chai. This blend is wonderful!! So spicy, so well blended! I love that I can drink this at night, it's so wonderful with some almond milk! It's currently cold & snowing outside & I'm enjoying a hot mug of this, this is so great! I LOVE IT!! Back to buy a large bag of this. Not sure if this would work iced or not but it's great hot!!!
Wow! I'm impressed by the aroma of this chai tea! No caffeine is a plus :) it's perfect with milk and sugar in raw. It's a dessert tea the way I like it. I will be back for more :)
I grew up drinking proper Indian chai and this is the best caffeine free alternative I've tried. The amount of spices are perfectly balanced and it's so delicious with milk and honey. Blended with ginger and some extra cardamom makes this amazing!
I've been a fan of rooibos chai for many years. When my stock of bagged tea from other companies was running low, I decided to order a sample of Arbor's take on rooibos chai since I'm a fan of their other offerings. Let's just say that I don't foresee ever buying rooibos chai anywhere else, ever. This blend somehow manages to highlight the mellow, pleasant taste of rooibos and yet still come across with a rich, round taste that is simultaneously naturally sweet and has a wonderful spice to it. For extra kick, I blend it 1:1 with an earthy black tea such as Arbor's Golden Yunnan Black and it's wonderful.
This tea has a wonderfully spicy aroma. The flavor is mild compared to the smell but a nice addition to a cold afternoon or evening when you want to avoid the caffeine of a black tea. Would have given it a higher rating if the flavor was a bit stronger as I like my tea strong. That said it is still a tasty tea.
This has flavor! No caffeine, organic, soooooothing, perfect. I put a thin slice of ginger in 2/3 a mug of water in a sauce pan with a tablespoon of this chai, boil it gently for 5", add 1/3 of a mug of raw organic milk & 2 teaspoons of coconut sugar, bring it back to just before boiling, and strain in back into my mug - amazing.
I used to make this blend myself during the winter because, in addition to the warmth of the hot tea, this combination of spices has a warming effect on the body. I ordered a few ounces to try it out and I can say that it is much richer and spicier than anything I make myself. I plan to order the bulk size and drink it as my every day tea during cold weather.
Chai lattes are a favorite of mine and I love being able to enjoy a caffeine-free version before bed. This tea is excellent with just honey or with milk. When I brew a latte, I add 2 tsp of tea instead of one teaspoon. If I just want to add honey and no milk, I brew as suggested. I think that the rooibos has a naturally sweet flavor as well, so I add less honey than if I am making chai with black tea.
This quickly became a favorite in our house this past summer when we'd drink it iced by the gallon. How lovely to discover as the weather turned cooler that it's just as delicious hot. We make it by the pot and add milk and a touch of sugar. I love that it's fair trade and naturally decaffeinated too!
This chai smells wonderful and tastes spicy! I drink it without milk or sweetener but imagine it would be really good with those additions! I appreciate that is is both organic and fair trade.
Spicy chai blend with pepper and ginger notes ideal for adding milk
