The best peppermint comes from the northwestern USA. The pure, moist mountain air of the spring and early summer growing season gives this organic herbal tea some of the highest volatile oil counts of any member of the mint family. Compared to our organic spearmint, this is quite a bit stronger and not as sweet. As a bonus, it is naturally caffeine-free! Historically, peppermint has been used as a stewing herb by ancient Hebrews and has been found in 3000-year-old Egyptian tombs. An interesting way to use this organic herbal tea is to place a sachet of peppermint leaves in your bath water - perfect for cooling off on a hot summer's day.
Ingredients: organic USA peppermint
Origin: Pacific Northwest, USA
The pacific northwest is home to some of the most prolific and best tasting herbs in the United States. Sometimes referred to as Cascadia, this region includes the states of Oregon and Washington and is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Rocky Mountains the east. The various climatic regions (from the mild summers with abundant rainfall in the mountains to the broad, dry plateaus) create the perfect growing conditions for many different types of herbs. Environmentalism is prominent throughout the region resulting in a strong commitment to organic and sustainable farming, and home to one of the original organic certifying bodies, Oregon Tilth. In our efforts to source as many products as possible from right here in the USA, we are delighted to offer herbal teas from this region and plan to continue to increase our selection of domestically grown herbs over the next few years.
Steeping Instructions
At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend herbal and rooibos teas to be steeped for 5 to 7 minutes in water heated to a full rolling boil. For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible, and avoid overboiling. If you want a stronger brew, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!
"Feeling stressed, sick, sad, whatever, peppermint always saves the day! I love unwinding with peppermint. It's smell and flavor just pack in that punch to help with some good ol' R & R!"
Sarah
"I love a big pitcher of this at dinner parties! Steep it with a little honey and cool to room temperature."
Jeremy
"This peppermint is so pungent it almost brings a tear to my eye when I get a big whiff of it!"
Health Benefits
One of the most popular herbs used throughout the world, peppermint has a long history of being beneficial for the body. Peppermint can be used to ease upper respiratory infections, as published by the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. More well known is peppermint's effect on stomach issues. Folk medicine has used peppermint to ail stomach aches and digestive problems, and peppermint oil has been demonstrated to have a positive effect on those with IBS in a double blind placebo-controlled randomized trial.

I am pretty new to the world of loose leaf tea but this is definitely better than the bagged mint tea I had before. Much stronger mint flavor and a smoother, cleaner taste for sure! A longer steep time and a bit of honey seems to make this one the best. Plus, there's no caffeine so of course it's naturally a great evening or bedtime treat. Will be ordering more!

I LOVE peppermint tea and have bought Arbor Tea's bulk size twice. Most days I drink this two times a day. It helps to settle an upset stomach and it is so refreshing!

peppermint tea

I've been a mint tea drinker my whole life. When I was younger, peppermint was a staple for me, something I drank every single day with honey. Now that I don't sweeten my teas, I don't find peppermint all that interesting to drink on its own. That said, I want to start creating my own blends and this is the Peppermint I will be using because I absolutely love this company - I love how thoughtful they are about everything down to the packaging. I love that this tea is sourced from the US and is ethically made. This is the peppermint I'm always going to buy to create my own blends.

Horribe tea. I've never tasted such weak peppermint tea and I used over a tablespoon of leaves. I'm feeling very regretful that I bought the giant bag

Perfect Summer Iced Tea
Posted by Melissa on 22nd Apr 2019
I love buying this and using the larger sized tea filters to make homemade peppermint iced tea for those really hot days in the summer. I add just a little bit of sweetness to it, nothing too overpowering. It’s really refreshing. And the price for a large quantity through Arbor Tea is great.

I love peppermint tea, especially around the holidays, and this is just the best! It's delicious and refreshing, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up or winding down after dinner. This morning I blended it with Arbor's nettle tea and love it like that too. This peppermint is so aromatic. It's a winner!

Who Knew Peppermint Could Be So Good!
Posted by Janet Binion on 29th Dec 2014
I've never been a peppermint tea drinker, but wanted to have a second non-caffeinated option, so I gave it a try. How delightfully refreshing this tea is in the late afternoon or evening! And it's organic. And I can fall asleep right after drinking it. A win-win-win!

Great tea!

I always love peppermint tea! Here is an organic one for me! It's strong but not overly minty, it's not harsh at all if you find the commercial brand is way too strong. It goes very well with dark chocolate!! Yum!

We drink this tea year round, but it's especially nice in the evenings when you want to wind down from the day, or when you need a comforting warm-up from the cold, cold winter. Love it!

Peppermint Lovers Rejoice
Posted by Tammy on 21st Oct 2013
I have tried many different box to teas. I now know the joy of what a fantastic loose peppermint tea does for the soul and the pallet. This T has a strong but satisfying flavor that truly leaves a soothing taste in your mouth. I let the tea steep for over 15 minutes and found a wonderfully strong flavor without any bitterness. I prefer this tea late at night before heading to bed. The fun part of this tea is as it cools the peppermint remains strong. Hot or cold of this tea is a delight. I found a stronger flavor when we brew it hot instead of letting it steep cold.

Delightfully Strong
Posted by Rachel on 23rd Aug 2013
You should be able to taste, smell, and enjoy the peppermint in tea, not just get a quick wiff while steeping. This tea is just that. I like to put mine in a coffee filter tied with butcher string, steep in a quart mason jar, and keep it in the fridge. The peppermint flavor is nice and strong and you get all the goodness from a long steep that herbal teas have to offer! Also great with green tea!

I tried this tea alone and then mixed with the green tea and white pomegranate tea. I liked it alone but when it's mixed it's extraordinary! I crave the smell and taste.

A crisp, clean tea
Posted by Dimitra on 17th Feb 2013
I love this peppermint tea. Just don't steep it too long (5 minutes or even less), otherwise I find too strong of a flavor and slightly bitter. It feels clean and crisp, and pairs well with dark chocolate. I also like doing 1/2 peppermint, 1/2 chamomile. My 5 year old daughter says this tea is yummy! This tea is great after lunch, and aids in digestion.

Peppermint
Posted by Aysia Scheerer on 16th Feb 2012
This peppermint tea has more flavor than peppermint teas that have been sitting around in tea bags at the grocery store, and the flavors of peppermint come through without having to brew the tea for too long. I really like blending this tea with a simple green tea (especially gen maicha). It is wonderful iced, and it is also great hot. It is very refreshing, and it seems to help soothe my occasional upset stomach. I would prefer the flavor was a bit more bold, but aside from picking fresh peppermint leaves and crushing them up into a tea, this is the next best thing. I also enjoy knowing that the tea is organic.

Converts bad tasting tea to Good!
Posted by Eric on 26th Nov 2011
After purchasing a tea flavor from a local vendor, I had been searching for another flavor to enhance the flavor of it. That vendor suggested a green tea combination that at the time smelled great. I later found out not to trust your olifactory ninja skills. Now I needed something to cover up this bad tasting tea as well as a tea to enhance the first one. Peppermint to the rescue! Peppermint is a strong tea flavor. Not only did it enhance the original flavor, but when mixed 50:50 with the bad tasting tea, it almost completely covers up the offending flavor and the result is a smile on your face. Peppermint is a soothing & relaxing tea, I suggest not drinking it if you want to stay awake, as I often end up taking a cat-nap during my lunch hour after sipping on this delectable tea. Suggestions: mix on a 20:80 ratio (Peppermint=20%) with any number of fruity flavors.
