Organic Thai Iced Tea

i was excited to get a sample of this thai tea because arbor teas is one of the only places i could find that sold it without the artificial coloring (AND i loved that this company is so environmentally friendly). since the blend is organic and lacks yellow dye, the flavor IS different from that of artificially flavored thai tea mixes, but still very enjoyable. i only give this blend a 3 because the flavor is a bit odd— maybe it's the presence of vanilla (which isn't in other thai tea mixes, i don't think), the missing clove, and/ or the way i brewed it (by boiling and leaving to cool) but there was a bit of a strange aftertaste. again, though, i still enjoyed it and would encourage everyone reading to try a sample, too. thank you arbor teas, i look forward to trying more of your teas in the future!

I've never had "restaurant" Thai iced tea, so I'm not comparing this tea to anything. I got it because the listed ingredients sounded like a good blend, and they are! This tea is full of flavor, but still very strongly *tea*. It reminds me a bit of a "cool" chai, or a spiced (but not spicy) baked good. I don't find the vanilla to be overpowering, but a pleasant counterpoint to the brightness of the anise. The tea itself is nicely astringent, which adds a bitter note to complement the smooth vanilla and bright spices. The overall effect is a well-balanced, very flavorful tea. I like this black or lightly sweetened, as I didn't find that it stood up as well to soymilk. I can steep the leaves twice before they lose flavor. Overall, I greatly enjoy this tea! It's an absolute treat.

It isn't exactly like the artificially flavored thai tea which can good or bad thing. It tastes amazing and my family and I really enjoyed this tea! I made brown sugar tapioca boba to have it with and it tasted great! Definitely recommend

It smells great but when brewed tastes nothing like the smell and left the worst after taste in my mouth.

This is the best thai iced tea i have ever heard. It doesn't have artificial flavors or colors which is usually served in restaurants. It tastes so good with condensed milk!!! I will be glad if you can come up with the decaf version too:)!!!

I love the smell of the unbrewed tea; however when made according to the directions and recipe suggestions the tea does not have the same flavor and mouth feel as a restaurant tea. The added spices don't seem balanced and the brew is very astringent. I feel like it would be better if the product was just the tea leaves and vanilla.

I love this blend!! I love that they don’t have dyes!! I’ve had a lot of Thai tea in restaurants before I learned that it was full of dye and way too much sugar. I think this blend tastes better than the restaurants

I ordered this tea because I wanted Thai Iced Tea without the yellow dye. This is a good, flavorful tea, however, it doesn't taste really anything like the Thai Iced Tea I've come to know and love. I think the vanilla flavor is just about right, but either the tea leaves used are not the same kind that is typically used in Thai Iced Tea or there's something going on with the spices that just isn't quite right.

Ooh, I was so excited to try this, and I loved it. It does taste a little different than what you get at restaurants, but I think that's a good thing. I enjoy it with some homemade coconut milk and a little sweetener, and followed the cold-brew directions on the back of the package. Definitely a favorite for summer.

This is not the authentic thai iced tea. There is something too strong in this thai tea; I believe it is the cardamom. The thai tea smell and taste is way off from the thai tea that is served at restaurant. I am aware that this tea does not have the orange dye that is seen in the restaurant style thai tea. However, I followed the arbors thai tea restaurant style recipe posted on the website and it still did not taste thai tea.

This tea is excellent. We discovered it one of our favorite restaurants and asked them what brand it was. I have been ordering this tea from Arbor Tea ever since then.

This is an authentic tasting, delicious tea. Easy to make at home and enjoy.

love at first sip... no, it does not taste like the chemical ridden restaurant version that is served all over U.S but it's very good combination of tea with spices and pretty darn close in flavor, not going back to the restaurant version again. Always order a sample to see if that's literally your cup o'tea :-)

I love the flavors of this tea! I was buying Thai tea leaves from my local Asian market but the food coloring was bothering me. I drink this tea hot. I also froth milk (also Premier protein) in my cup with some sweetener and pour my steeped tea into it. It is a little luxury of flavors! I had my sisters try it one morning when we were together and they loved the combination of the smells and flavors. Thank you for the organic side of this tea. I tried many different ways to steep my tea and now I buy tea bags to put the tea in. It is so nice not to have any loose tea hanging out in my cup.

was really hoping to find a healthier alternative to the thai tea you would normally get at restaurant but it does not taste anything like thai tea. WITH THAT BEING SAID, the more I drink it the more I like it. I treat it as a herbal tea and add a little honey with half-half. So i recommend to give this tea a try.

Simply not the thai tea flavor in restaurants that I was looking for. They should not call this thai tea. Ask for a sample before you order. Super nice customer service and they said they would exchange it.

I love Thai tea. I hate the artificial coloring, but I love the flavor. This tastes nothing, let me repeat, NOTHING, like Thai tea. It is much more like some of the "chais" other vendors market. I purchased a large bag of this tea with high expectations, and I will end up giving it away. I do not like anise, and it just over powers this tea - I can't even drink it. I am super disappointed. I love Arbor Tea and the green values it promotes, but they really need to change the name of this tea. I've never been to Thailand, so maybe there is tea with this flavor profile there, but this bears no similarity to US Thai tea. It is completely misleading.

Thai iced tea is possibly my all-time favorite drink. I've had natural versions, unnatural versions, supernatural versions. This is the worst one. The flavor profile is completely off. It's missing clove and has too much anise. It's bland and lacking complexity. It's nothing like any other Thai iced tea I've ever had. In a bad way. The whole reason I ordered from Arbor Teas was because I really wanted to find an organic version of the Thai iced tea I love so much. I spend thousands on tea annually and thought this might be my new go-to place, but I'm disappointed with this blend and most of the others I ordered.

I I look forward every afternoon to coming home and having an iced cup of this Thai Tea version. It has a clean and healthy taste. I actually experimented with adding raw tumeric root, just a tiny bit enough to help change the color of the tea from red to orange , I loved the result. What a great healthy version of this delicious refreshing tea. I will reorder very soon.

i love Thai tea but do not like drinking the commercial version for obvious reasons. I bought this tea and found it to have a beautiful hue, not as dark as the orange-red color of the commercial versions but still a beautiful ruby, deep reddish tint. I will try to deepen the color next time by using more tea. The taste is elegant, delicious. I used a combination of organic condensed milk with homemade almond milk to make an iced Thai tea, the outcome super delicious!!! I will continue to buy arbor teas organic Thai version it is just what i was looking for. If you are looking for a healthy version of this tea this is it.

My wife and I have been looking for a solid thai iced tea, ideally one that isn't full of food coloring and nastiness. We've tried a few. We weren't happy with any of them. None of them tasted like thai iced tea. Then we tried this one, which doesn't taste like thai iced tea either. But there's something about it that fills the niche we were looking for. And it's close. We call it airquotes thai, as in: Hey, want some "thai" tea? Sure, that sounds good! After drinking a bunch, we happened to get free thai iced tea when we ordered thai delivery. So we drank it. And we agreed that we'd actually rather drink this stuff. We now think it's better than restaurant thai. So, thumbs up. If you're looking for something that's exactly like restaurant thai iced tea, then this isn't it . . . but try it anyway. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I went to a Thai restaurant recently and loved their iced tea. At first I thought it was Chai tea but they said it was Thai. I had a hard time finding it online. All I could find was the Thai Iced Tea Mixes. But that's not what I wanted. This tea has a wonderful, spiceful taste to it. I make it in my iced tea maker using a coffee filter since it's loose leaf tea. I usually will add some Stevia to my glass but this tea is great even without any sweetener. And I love that it's all NATURAL flavors! I have already recommended this tea to others. What a great find!

Despite promises that this tea tastes just like the Thai Iced Tea served in restaurants, I did not find this to be the case and I was very disappointed. I prepared the iced tea exactly according to the instructions and found that it was bland, bitter, and had some unusual spices that typical Thai Iced Tea doesn't have. It tasted somewhat like a weak, bitter chai. I love both chai and Thai Iced Tea, but this particular tea is completely unsatisfactory as either one. I'm an avid tea enthusiast and have not often met a tea I didn't like, but this is definitely one I would not order, drink, or prepare again. I guess I will have to continue my search for the perfect Thai Iced Tea mix!

This tea is what originally brought me to Arbor Teas, when looking for a natural Thai tea, which I love to drink clear and unsweetened. While this tea doesn't have the exact flavor of the Pantai blend that I used to enjoy, this tea makes a wonderful, flavorful tea, both iced or hot. The cardamom notes are dominant when iced, but then when I tried it warm, I noticed that the vanilla becomes the dominant flavor. Very wonderful and it's like 2 teas in 1.

I'm surprised there are so many negative reviews! Perhaps this is not the exact flavor of restaurant Thai Iced Tea, but I much prefer drinking organic tea with known ingredients rather than pesticide-laden tea containing sweetened condensed milk, which probably contains GMO sugar and milk from cows injected with rBST. Plus I think this is quite tasty and am ordering more!

Being born and raised in Taiwan, I'm very familiar with all specialty teas across Asia. Chai, Thai, Teh tarik, etc., I've come across all kinds. To be fair, the only Thai tea I've not tried is Thai tea from Thailand since I've not traveled there yet. I've got really high hopes for this one, for it being organic and having no artificial coloring added. It was only to my deep disappointment that the spices were blended disproportional. The spices were so strong that my infuser had absorbed the smell that wouldn't go away even if I left it soaked in water for 2 days. Ever since, all other teas I make taste like this with said infuser. I'm now merely trying to use it all up just to not be wasteful. The tea itself is fine at best, but it's really hard to judge the true quality because the spices overpower any flavor that it could offer. Be advised not to purchase this blend if you want what the usual Thai Tea that you are used to getting in the restaurants (and how they are supposed to taste like anyway). Arborteas is a fine company and the packaging and everything is thoughtful and recommendable, but unless they change the recipe, this particular blend is definitely NOT worth buying, even just for the tea itself.

Like other reviewers have stated, it tastes somewhat like chai tea. I'm actually not a fan of chai but very much a fan of thai tea like those at the restaurants. I'm guessing it's like what another reviewer said, too much cardamom or anise that makes this more like chai tea. Had it been more like thai, I'd be a customer for life. =/

If you're looking for an organic Thai tea that tastes like the artificially colored orange tea you'd get in a Thai restaurant, this isn't it. If they made something like that, I would love to buy it...but I would still buy this tea as well. Even though it wasn't the Thai tea flavor I expected, I really loved it, especially as iced tea with a splash of vanilla soy milk.

Your products & service are excellent. Every thing about this was wonderful. This just wasn't the flavor of Cha Yen found in Thailand. :( I very much want an alternative to Number One Brand because it contains artifical colors. If the flavor was correct I would definitely be a regular customer.

I've been trying different and healthier variation of Thai Tea for a while and I continue to come back to this one. I can mix it with the Pantai Brand Tea for that restaurant style Thai Tea or I can drink it by itself for a uniquely different flavor. I only wish that I could see how much caffeine there is in this tea blend! Despite this, I will be purchasing more of this when my bag runs out!

Never had thai iced tea before and decided to try this out. I followed the recipe that is posted on the youtube chanel, and it was pretty good. Definitely a unique flavor profile.

I am Asian. The best available Thai tea in a bottle brand from the oriental store around here is Pantai. As I became a more natural ingredients consumer, I read every ingredient before buying products. I don't do food coloring, artificial flavoring, and preservatives. I love drinking Thai tea as it is the only sweet tea to quench my thirst when water alone does not work. When I saw that all Thai tea from the stores here have artificial ingredients including the dried Thai tea, I started looking for only the main ingredients, such as real tea leaves, real spices, real vanilla flavoring, with no added food coloring (I don't care about looks/color as the taste matter more). I found out that Arbor Teas have exactly what I wanted and it tastes so delicious. I saw some bad reviews here that this is not what they are looking for and the taste is not Thai tea. Here's my trick: 1 & 1/4 Cup Cold Water 1 Tablespoon Sugar in Mug Set Aside 1/4 Cup choice of Creamer 1 Tablespoon Arbor Teas Organic Thai Iced Tea In a sauce pot, put in the Arbor Teas Organic Thai Iced Tea and pour the cold water in it and set heat on medium-high. When it comes to a boil, let it boil for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of boiling, pour the hot tea through a strainer into the mug with sugar. Slowly pour and stir at the same time the creamer into the mug of sweet hot tea. Add more sweetener to desire taste. Enjoy hot or pour over ice.

I ended up steeping the leaves for a longtime (20+minutes) to try to get the strong Thai Tea flavor. It was good but for me it was still a little more gentle version of Thai Tea. Just as a normally prepared tea (steeped a couple of minutes in hot water with nothing else added) it is a lovely gentle, sweet, and well rounded. A good morning tea or high tea tea!

This is a really nice blend. It has a lovely flavor and smells so good! I can see it being a regular in my tea rotation. It's also a big bonus that there's no coloring dyes like regular cha-yen. However, if you buy this thinking it's going to allow you to closely replicate the same flavor and style of restaurant-quality Thai tea/iced tea, you'll probably be disappointed because this is not a match. Think of the two as relatives, not twins. If you want something closer, try something like Pantainorasingh.

I love it. Best Thai tea I've ever had.

Whenever I go out for Thai food I have to order an iced tea to go with it, so I was very excited when I found an organic fair trade option I could brew at home. The aroma of this tea is very indicative of its flavor. I was surprised at how finely ground this tea is, so be prepared to use an infuser that is screened and not with bigger holes. The flavor is a lot more bold than the teas I am used to ordering out, the cardamom is very prominent as is the anise. After a little trial and error, I found that for my palate personally, steeping 1 teaspoon per 9oz of water for 5-7 minutes is perfect. Some simple syrup mixed in and poured over ice makes this a wonderful summertime tea, I like to use a vanilla soy milk to top it off for a smooth milk tea. Half and Half is also good if you prefer dairy. Just don't be surprised when this tea doesn't contain the bright orange color that is the trademark of Thai tea ordered out! This contains no dyes, so it's a slightly reddish brown before adding milk. Overall I definitely recommend this tea, I ordered the sample size to try it out, but now have ordered the regular size bag so I can enjoy Thai iced tea at home.

I ordered this because I wanted to re-create a healthier version of the restaurant style thai iced tea at home--less sweet and minus the extra food color. I liked that this one was organic and made with the same spices as the authentic version, so I bought it. I was really excited because I saw the good reviews, and when the tea arrived I made it right away. Not what I expected at all, it was so acidic and bitter that I could hardly drink it. I was so disappointed and thought that maybe I had prepared it incorrectly, so I tried again. I followed all the instructions--the right water, the right temperature, the right measurement, steeping time, everything--and it still came out the same. I looked up online how to get rid of bitter taste in tea, and came across the idea to add a little baking soda. I tried that, but as it was steeping the smell was so nauseating that I didn't even bother to try it. No amount of sugar could have made it taste better, the bitterness was just so strong. It almost smelled and tasted like it was expired. I've been a tea drinker my whole life. I make a lot of tea and I am very careful to prepare it correctly, so this honestly was either a bad batch or it is just not good tea. I would have returned it, but my husband put it in a jar immediately after it arrived to make sure it stayed fresh, and then got rid of the original bag that it came in. Oh well. :(

This is very good tea. The aroma is amazing. The only thing is, this is more of a Chai than Thai. That being said, I will be buying more of this in the future but I'll need to get a different infuser because the tea is very fine.

I have always loved Thai iced tea in restaurants and didn't realize that it contains artificial yellow dye. So I was delighted to find this organic version made by Arbor Teas last summer. Several guests have raved about it served the way I love it--without dairy or sugar. I'm looking forward to enjoying the packages I ordered today in the warm months to come.

I've always enjoyed getting a Thai iced tea at several local restaurants. I was excited to try this one with no dyes. While the flavor is pleasant, I was disappointed that it didn't taste like a campfire like the ones I've had at local restaurants. It reminds me more of a chai tea. Also it is a very fine tea and I've been getting tons of grinds in my cup even using the super fine infuser I purchased from Arbour Teas.

I have always loved Thai Iced Tea, but it took me years of searching to finally find some organic tea without artificial food dye. Tried this tea and it is extremely high quality. My entire family tried and loved it.

One of my favorite drinks is Thai Iced Tea at one of the local Thai restaurants. I have tried several ways to make this at home, but it never tasted right, or if it did, it was just obviously full of chemicals/colors. I'm so delighted that I found this tea because now I can make Thai iced tea at home whenever I want, and better yet, it has no artificial dyes or sweeteners. The spices in the tea are just the right mix. I make it by the glass, add sugar while it's still hot, then refrigerate it. Then when I'm ready to drink it, I'll add a little sweetened, condensed milk and ice and it's ready to go. Better than any restaurant! Oh, and it does taste great alone without anything if that is your preference. I think the only way this could possibly be any better is if there were a decaf version, so I could drink it before bed. :-) Thank you Arbor Teas!

I am so grateful I found this tea. I have been trying all types of Chai to make one of my favorite drinks - Thai Iced Tea. I gave this a try and brewed a nice big pitcher. I let the leaves steep about 30 min. as I love my tea strong - it is the most flavorful, full bodied tasting tea. I do not use sweetener, instead I use a little (about 2 TBSP) Flavored Coffee Creamer. I never have to wait again for a Thai Restaurant.

I am trying to reduce my sugar intake and this tea has such good flavor, it hardly needs any sweetener. I add a little stevia when brewing and then put it in the refrigerator. I like to add a little coconut milk also. This has gotten me out of my way-over sweetened-Starbucks iced coffee habit! Love this iced tea so much that I will probably keep drinking it during the winter!
