A gem...
Very nice tea straight out of the bag, with a distinct terrior unlike anything I've experienced and a complex, malty character with notes of Lychee and toasted grain over a sweet, viscous liquor. However, where it really shines is with aging - I store the bulk bags in violet glass apothecary jars, and after about a month the complexity of the already excellent tea is dramatically improved and it just gets better the longer it sits. Brewed in an unglazed teapot the beautiful, sleek leaves produce a rich, viscous, penitratingly sweet liquor with a malty base that supports Lychee and Apricot notes and a hint of something somewhere between Nutmeg, Mace, and Angelica Root, with a light hint of Jasmine and Honeysuckle on the nose that becomes more pronounced on the exhale. The leaves last a long time too -on average I'd say I can get between fifteen and twenty steepings out of five grams in a 100 ml pot, and while further steepings get a bit weak they're still very pleasant- so it's a steal at this price. Altogether a wonderful gem of a tea...
